The Downtown Business District was created by voters in 2001. Because of the borders that were approved at that time, there are some downtown properties which are not within the taxing district. The DBD invites non-DBD businesses who are located within the downtown to purchase a Marketing Package for $250/year, which allows participation in the Downtown Middletown Gift Card, and inclusion in the DBD promotions, including the Downtown Brochure, this DowntownMiddletown.com website, and DBD media campaigns. Marketing Package participants are not DBD members and may not vote in DBD elections, and are not liable for the DBD tax.
